Angela Lansbury Appears On The View

"Your just my idol", yelped Joy Behar...and to complete the quintuplet of hosts on ABC's "The View", Whoopi Goldberg, Barbara Walters, Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Sherri Shepherd. Today at 11am (ET) they had the pleasure of Angela Lansbury's company.

I sure she's bored of hearing it, but to me, she will always be Jessica Fletcher, even if the last series did end 13 years ago! She is of course, of huge Movie and Broadway fame too. Angela Lansbury, 83, is currently appearing on stage in a revival of Blithe Spirit, which began preview performances on Thursday 26th February 2009 and had it's official opening on Sunday 15th March 2009 at The Shubert Theatre.

During her appearance on The View, she admitted she was proud of Murder She Wrote, however, she didn't want people to forget she's done movie and theater. The Hosts then played a clip of Lansbury's 1962 movie, "The Manchurian Candidate" of which she remarked "it took me years to live that role down", where she played a merciless, motivated mother to her trusting and political son. I think i may have to look through the archives for that! Personally i loved watching re-runs of Bedknobs and Broomsticks as a kid!

Lansbury, once asked, then proceeded to mimic her role as the medium in "Blithe Spirit" and danced around the stage in a trance, while at all times channeling the spirits!
